A journalist.Sheema Ahanin is a young Torontonian who has a keen curiosity and interest about the world and the people surrounding her. She’s never short of questions and always seeking answers. Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Sheema made the move to the big (Canadian) city of Toronto, Ontario in September 2012 to pursue a job at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation working in communications and current affairs radio. Her passion and drive can be found in her researching, interviewing, writing, video production and photography work. She’s always got her camera everywhere she goes, making sure she documents special, significant moments in her life. She takes any opportunity during her time off to embark on travels where she could experience a whole new culture and lifestyle – and all the while, trying to understand the politics, history and society of the place in question. Her last few projects include travelling to Iran to work on a project revolved around the culture and society of Iran today, working with a grass-root soccer blog from Toronto on a FIFA 2014 project called #TO14 DiverCity and writing for several magazines as a contributor.
