Travel Expert: Viva Las Vegas Baby

Alex Uziallo

If  Disneyland is the happiest place on Earth for kids, then without a doubt Las Vegas is the happiest place on Earth for adults.  Well, sleazy, booze riddled degenerate gambling adults for sure.

That’s pretty much why I love it.

But I love the place for more than that, it is without a doubt my favourite city in America and the main reason is that it isn’t trying to be something other than what it is.  Seattle, whilst very pretty, tries very hard to be as grungy as it can.  San Francisco tries to be this alternative, forward thinking epicentre of the world and I find people there just try way too hard to fit this mould.

Las Vegas on the other hand knows exactly what it is: an adult playground where you can do pretty much anything you want – within legal reason.  The people there might put on an insincere smile when they serve you, but you know that from the outset and that makes it that much more pleasant as a tourist.

Of course the gambling and public drinking laws are great, but there are so many other perks to this place.  Firstly, you can get anything you want any hour of the day – take the room service menu for example:  they will make you anything you want, any hour of the day – for a charge of course, check these hotel reviews at Vegasguy.com.

You are also just a short flight away from one of the most beautiful places on the face of the planet: the Grand Canyon.  It is well worth the early morning (or late night as the case might be) wake up call to see the sunrise from the floor of the canyon.  That’s one part of this city that is as sincere as it gets.

There are many more reasons why I love this place, but ultimately it comes back to the fact that Las Vegas is what it is: the happiest place on earth.
